Enjoy An Italian Fare In Phuket At La Gritta

Phuket is a romantic destination. There are many romantic restaurants in Phuket, but when it comes to the Patong Beach, many might feel the absence of one. Perhaps, they haven’t comes across La Gritta, the Italian restaurant of Amari Phuket Resort. With a unique view of the entire Patong Bay, it is the best place to fall in love bonding over culinary delights.

From food, to service and atmosphere, this place appears quite perfect and welcoming with a sweet mood. The surroundings take you to a romantic world with a refreshing breeze flowing across wooden terraces as you look at a breathtaking view of the sea, and swaying coconut trees. It is highly recommended to go with advance booking to avoid disappointment especially if you want to secure a vantage point on the terrace. The good thing, as the terraces are built on multiple levels they offer a stunning view to almost all the diners. There is also an indoor seating area. At any given time it can accommodate nearly 100 people.

The place flaunts a modern ambiance and architecture with bold linear design scheme. There is lavish use of pale beige stone and wood on the floors, ceiling, and walls bringing an exotic feel. The sundowner terrace is done in warm and pastel hues with contemporary furnishing completed from dark, durable ersatz water hyacinth. The soft jazzy tunes in the background add a classy feel to the place.

La Gritta has an extensive menu so you have a lot to choose from.  The menu houses a delicious list of classic Italian dishes. One of the most popular is Bruschetta Campana (toasted bread with vegetables and mozzarella). They use locally produced, Phuket buffalo mozzarella and pesto. A few more names include Sautéed Calamari with Lemon Polenta Nuggets, Rocket Salad, Bottarga (a delicacy of salted, cured fish roe, typically of the dried tuna or grey mullet roe) shavings, Ravioli Wagyu (braised beef cheek ragout, porcini mushroom with spinach), Ossobucco (lemon flavoured polenta with baby carrots and garnish made with chopped parsley, garlic, and grated lemon zest); Salmon Risoni with Foie Gras and more. Only the seafood part of the menu is non-Italian.

Highly recommended are their Clam Chowder Soup, Black Ravioli Lobster (prepared with squid ink) and a Risotto with mushrooms. Do not forget to try Apple Tart from their dessert section. The best time to visit La Gritta is around 6 pm or earlier to enjoy the beauty of a sunset and enjoy nature's farewell kiss for the night in the bay.
