Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi based retailer major Lulu Group has further expanded its presence in the capital by opening a new shopping center in the Workers Residential City in Al Mafraq, off the city limits of Abu Dhabi.
The new shopping center, Emirates General Market was officially inaugurated by H.E. Saeed Eisa Mohamed Al Khyeli, Director General of ZonesCorp in the presence of Eng. Khadem Sawayah Al Muhairi, Executive Director- WRC Sector at ZonesCorp,, prominent businessman Otabiba bin Saeed Al Otaiba and other dignitaries. Also present on the occasion were Yusuff Ali MA, Chairman & Managing Director of Lulu Group, Saifee Ruapawala, CEO, Ashraf Ali MA Executive Director of Lulu and other top officials of the company. A large number of people from different walks of life were also present to witness the inauguration.
The shopping center which is 138th of the group, is spread over an area of about 60,000 square feet and can be easily accessed by residents of Mafraq residential city and its surrounding areas. Like every other store, the new general market showcases a fresh food section consisting of a wide assortment of fruits, vegetables, dairy products, poultry, meat and fish and a hot food section. There is also a huge area dedicated to department store, which includes electronics, IT, stationery and home appliances. Apart from the supermarket and department section, the shopping center also hosts more than 70 different retail tenant mix including mobile shops, perfumes, money exchange, watches, jewellery and accessories, ATM and a food court among others.

The Middle East retail giant Lulu Group expanded further in KSA with the opening of a new shopping mall and hypermarket in Hufuf, Al Ahsa Governorate. UAE based LuLu Group which opened its first hypermarket and department store in Jakarta, Indonesia in January last year will be investing US$500 million on a major project in the country. The Project will include the setting up of ten new hypermarkets and department stores in the next three years across the country.
The first LuLu Hypermarket and Department Store was inaugrated by the Indonesian President, Joko"Jokowi"Wi dodo and it has become one of the most highly popular shopping destinations for residents in and around East Jakarta. Y International, a wholly owned subsidiary of the group launched its operation in Lyndhurst, New Jersey this morning.
The world –class export center will purchase, process, re-label and export food, non-food, chilled and frozen products made in the U.S. In the first phase there are 75 employees which is expected to eventually grow to 200 to 250 employees within I year.

Lulu Group has opened its latest hypermarket in the city of Hail, in the north-western province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
The Hypermarket was officially inaugurated by Dr. Saud Hamood Al Bugami, Under Secretary of Hail province in the presence of several high-ranking officials from various government departments and representatives from local business communities.
